Hey there! Had fun doing a taping for the Be BOLD You Podcast with Cyndilu about the stigma of unseen illnesses. Here is a clip from before we got started with the taping – two of us from New Zealand – one native and I a transplant talking about the terms in New Zealand compared to the USA. Such fun! Enjoy… What terminology have you ever used that is interpreted differently in another country? Love to hear your stories! Post them below!
One of the stories I sharehere is how grateful I was that the neighbor never took me up on my invite to come around for some Tea – Listen and you will find out why I was super glad, and how embarassed I would have been she taken me up on my offer! Learning a new culture is fun and exciting for sure!
Are the words that important when like minded people are together?
Magda van Rooyen nope. Just found this a bit funny.
What is chicken salt?
Shannon Sargeant amazing! Chicken flavoured salt to put on your chips – French fries – instead of plain salt. It’s not as salty, has great flavour though 🙂
LOL… What Sarah Tregonning said… LOL!
Gosh what are you using in America flavourless boring salt.
Rita Mckenzie I don’t use much salt anymore. But I love spices and seasonings.
Shannon Sargeant And when you get your fries what do they offer you.
I loved the differences between me and Gary, me being English and him being American. We offended each so much!!1
ha… so funny!
